Wet Feet

Filed under: A Little Something — mitchellsmustard @ 3:32 pm

My surroundings of unsteady water, the inpatient hustle and
bustle of the currents mimicking the restlessness of my thoughts. The inviting
patchwork of reflecting sun will soon be gone as the weather changes and the
clouds march in ready for salute. Perched on the front of the boat with my toes
breaking the seal of disturbance, feeling the wind on my back try to test my
solid balance. These are days that you tend to remember for a while because
they’re the ones that clear the cobwebs of doubt and give you patience, simple
days that bring you back to your roots and light a candle to give a clear route out of the grey areas.
Afternoons of your own company to repair and replace those bad seeds, re
energise the confidence you have in those around you. Counting clouds as they
dance past waiting to be joined by others until the puzzle is complete and the
down pour can wash away the evidence of yesterday. But until then I will carry
on sitting here with wet feet and busy thoughts of tomorrow. There is always
tomorrow.
